Major Works

In 2004 the TMO developed a programme of major works for the period 2004 to 2010. The programme was designed to achieve the following:

  • Meeting the Decent Homes Standard.
  • Essential repairs to items of plant such as lifts and communal heating systems.
  • Improvements to certain estates (such as security measures) in line with the wishes expressed by residents.

Since the programme began a large number of works have been completed or contractors have commenced on site. In other cases surveys are being undertaken to find out exactly what work is required for each home.

Occasionally the starting dates may be subject to change due, for example, to the time taken to obtain planning permission or the time taken to consult with residents or the availability of funding.

Some items of work need more detailed planning before information can be included on the Progress Charts. In particular the need to provide digital television reception to those homes currently served by communal television aerials. We are currently researching the most efficient and effective means of providing a digital television service and installation dates will be included on the Progress Charts as soon as they are available.

The Major Works progress charts below show the work that is planned for each property over the next two to three years.

The works are divided into Estates, non-estates and security works.

The work to be carried out in subsequent years is currently being planned. Further details will appear on the website as they become available.

The document “explanation of works” below details the type of works listed on the charts.
