E-Government Programme Principals

The principals of the TMO's E-Government Programme take into account the following four key areas:

Access

The TMO want to make sure that our services are easy to access. With a focus on developing new electronic channels, we want to ensure access is inclusive and usable by as many people as possible. The TMO’s Equality Statement outlines our approach to Equal Opportunities and access.

Tools

The right tools need to be provided to staff to enable them to do their jobs effectively. We follow the E-Government standards for all IT procurement and implementation. This includes the E-Government Interoperability Framework and its supporting XML schemas. Suppliers having queries about these standards should contact the IT manager through the e-mail address above.

Security

It is essential that all the services we offer are secure – we need to check the identity of service users and protect their information whenever it is stored or communicated. We follow the E-Government Security Framework and work towards BS7799.

Knowledge

We also need to manage our corporate knowledge and information properly. To this end, we look to the Public Record’s Office guidance on KM as well as others. For further information, please see the E-Government ERM Framework.

We also comply with the E-Government Metadata Standard, based on Dublin Core and the E-Government Interoperability Framework Data Standards Catalogue.
