What else do I need to check before I move?

Ensure your rent and any other charges are paid up to date before the exchange can takes place. Make sure you check with housing benefits that no payments are outstanding.

Remember to check!

  • Is the condition of the property satisfactory?
  • What repairs you are responsible for and if the outgoing tenant has carried out improvements?
  • What are your rent charges?
  • What kind of tenancy you would have?
  • Would you have the right to buy or right to acquire?
  • Do you have a tenant’s handbook?
  • Are you aware of the tenancy conditions?
