What does bidding involve?

You will only be able to bid if you have the minimum number of points and you are registered for that bedsize. This information will be on the advert and on the website. We also advertise particular vacancies to certain groups – for example homeless families living in temporary accommodation or to people with mobility needs. Look out for the ones for transfer applicants or housing association developments particularly in West London.

How many properties can I bid for?

There is no limit to the number of properties you can bid for. Details on how to bid will be on the advert/website.

What if I do not have access to the internet?

There is internet access at the town hall and soon on the 4th Floor at Charles House. There is also internet access at Grenfell Tower Lancaster West Estate

and most of the Borough’s branch libraries have access to. You will also receive adverts in the post of vacancies of the bed size you are registered for.

What if I need help to bid?

You can contact the allocations team who would be happy to advise you what vacancies are available. You can also complete the form 'Do you want us to bid for you?' which will enable us to bid on your behalf without you contacting us.

Can I use my mobile phone to bid?

Yes you can. You will need your user ID and the property reference number.

  • Step 1 open a new text message
  • Step 2 enter “bid” at the start of the message followed by the # key
  • Step 3 enter your User ID then #
  • Step 4 enter your PIN then #
  • Step 5 enter advert number
    Leave no spaces.
    To bid for further properties add another # followed by advert number leaving no spaces.
  • Step 6 press send on your mobile key pad to 0780 014 0736.
