Garden Clearance Service

Picture of a gardenThe TMO provide a garden clearance/tidy-up service for tenants who are either elderly, have a disability or are not capable of doing the work themselves.

To qualify, you must:

  • be over 60 years in age and/or registered as a disabled person or
  • be physically unable to do the work yourself
  • and have no other person living with you, or within reasonable distance, who is able to clear the garden.

Works generally undertaken consist of:

  • cutting grass and collecting all debris
  • cutting back overgrown hedges
  • removing weeds from hard surfaces (possible trip hazards)
  • cutting back, as necessary, overgrown shrubs and collecting all debris.
  • the work is undertaken by a contractor appointed and managed by the TMO Landscape & Environment Section.

It should be noted that clearance work is undertaken on a one-off basis. Should it not be possible to undertake the works immediately due to funding constraints, all approved applications will be held over and work carried out as soon as funding permits.
