Decoration allowance

A new or existing tenant may be eligible for a decoration or disturbance allowance where there has been unavoidable damage to the internal decorations through no fault of their own. This may be where the TMO needs to carry out major works to a property whilst the tenant is still in occupation or following damage as a result of a leak or flood.

The TMO assesses the amount of allowance based on set costs for the individual room to be decorated. The decoration allowance is issued in a voucher form that can be exchanged for paint, paintbrushes and some decorating goods redeemable at Homebase, Warwick Road branch. The voucher must be used within the time period specified.
